Mars 2005 opposition
I got another attempt at imaging Mars in the fall of 2005. Despite personal commitments for my oldest daughters wedding and some poor weather, I managed to image the planet several times. At one point there was a small dust storm near the south pole. Below is the collection of images I collected during that opposition. There was a noted improvement in my image collecting techniques and I was able to image Olympus Mons in the fifth image below. Solis Lacus was also well recorded. Mars will put on another show starting in 2016. I expect to provide some images that are an improvement over these.
