Magnitude: 6.0

Angular size: 2.5 degrees

The shape of this emission nebula is where it gets its name.  Because of its size it is an easy target for astrophotographers even when using short focal length lenses (50-200mm). It is best framed with medium focal length instruments (200-400mm) using digital SLRs/APS sensors.
