Name: The "Cigar" galaxy

Constellation:Centaurus

Instrument: 8-inch F5 reflector with sky watcher coma corrector and an ASI 2600 MC (gain 100 -20C).

Exposure time: A stack of 16 five-minute exposures.

Magnitude: 9.3

Angular size: 20.0' X 3.8'

NGC 4945 is an edge-on barred spiral galaxy that resides just above the -50 degree declination mark that I placed as the southern limit for the list. While difficult to image above 30 degrees latitude, its size makes it a worthwhile target to be added to the list. This was imaged from Chiefland, Florida.
