NGC 5139 is one of the largest globular clusters visible in the sky. It is easily visible to the naked eye as a fuzzy star, which is why it has a greek letter designation. While it can be technically visible from northern latitudes around 40 degrees, it is best visible from latitudes below 35 degrees.
