Name: The "War and peace" or "Lobster" Nebula.

Constellation:Scorpio

Instrument:8-inch F5 reflector with Sky Watcher coma corrector and ASI 2600 MC (gain 100 -20C).

Exposure time: A stack of 16 five-minute and 9 three-minute exposures.

Angular size: 50' X 40'

This object is a large emission nebula that sort of looks like a lobster. It is sometimes referred to as "the war and peace nebula" because, in infrared, it looks like a dove and a skull. Like NGC 6334 (AP74) it is better to image this one at latitudes below 35 degrees.
