Image 2: 16 five-minute and 9 three-minute exposures.

Apparent size: 3 degrees IC 1396 is a large emission nebula to the south of the main Cepheus constellation. It is best photographed with lenses between 200 and 400mm for APS sensor DSLR. The bright yellow Garnet Star is on the northern ede of the nebula.
A section of IC 1396, identifed as IC 1396A, is the "Elephant Trunk" nebula. This is the most common section of IC 1396 that is imaged.
