The Planet Venus

The planet Venus is easily visible in the west after sunset or in the east prior to sunrise. It is so bright that it can not be missed and is often misperceived as a UFO.  Venus can even be seen in daylight if you know where to look.  I have seen the planet 30 minutes before sunset before with the unaided eye. I have read accounts of people seeing it in the middle of the day under good conditions. The following links will take you to various events I have observed concerning the planet Venus over the years.

The June 8, 2004 Venus transit

The June 5, 2012 Venus transit
