Name: The Cone Nebula and Christmas tree cluster

Instrument: 8-inch F5 reflector with a sky watcher coma corrector and ZWO ASI2600MC Pro (gain 100 -20C)

Exposure time: A stack of 6 five-minute and 30 three-minute exposures.

Magnitude: 3.9

Angular size: 20'

This is dark cloud of material in front of an emission nebula that has the shape of a cone. The "cone" is only 3 arc minutes across but the surrounding nebulosity and open cluster make it a huge object, which fills up the entire field of view. It is another winter celestial showpiece that belongs on the list.
