Name: The "Seagull" Nebula

Constellation:Monoceros

Instrument: Orion ED80 with a F6 focal reducer and a modified Canon T3i.

Exposure time: A stack of 6 ten-minute and 10 five-minute exposures at ISO 800.

Magnitude: 15.2

Angular size: 2 degrees

IC 2177 appears to be the designation for the entire "Seagull" nebula. It gets its name from the shape and is a large target covering over 2 degrees of sky. This makes it ideal for imaging with medium focal length (200-400mm) instruments.
