Magnitude: 4.6 Angular size: 90' X 40' Next to the Orion Nebula, the lagoon nebula is probably the next most photographed messier object that is an emission nebula. It is a large object that is easily found in the heart of the milky way. This size and contrast with the background milky way starfield makes for spectacular images.
